THE CHALLENGE
When I joined the Marketing/Community team as an intern in 2017, the studio was in the midst of a full rebrand. It had been 15 years since the last rebrand, and with Marvel's Spider-Man set to ship just over a year later, Insomniac felt it was time to refresh the logo to match the studio's new direction. As Marvel's Spider-Man was set to be the studio's biggest title since Ratchet & Clank, the community was sure to grow exponentially over the next year. It was therefore up to the Marketing/Community team to create content to appeal to these new fans and grow excitement for the game's release. When I returned to the team as an intern in 2018, our focus shifted largely to promotion for Marvel's Spider-Man, which was set to release at the end of the summer.
MY WORK
One of the biggest projects I got to work on at Insomniac was a full train wrap for the 42nd Street Shuttle in New York City, which shuttles guests between Grand Central Station and Times Square. I designed the entire wrap and directed the production of deliverables for printing through Sony Interactive Entertainment and a third-party printing company. Click here to view more photos and information about this project.
As one of my primary responsibilities, I cross-collaborated with strategic partners such as Marvel Entertainment and Sony Interactive Entertainment to create social media content for an audience of over 1 million followers across all platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Discord. Examples of the copy, graphics, and GIFs I created can be seen below.
Additionally, as Marketing/Community intern, I participated in almost daily Twitch livestreams. While in Durham, I helped run the stream from behind the scenes. While in Burbank, I appeared on-screen, playing games with coworkers while answering live questions from viewers.
